WA Grain & Pulse Solutions is the group receivership, administered by BDO Canada Limited, that includes New Leaf Essentials (East) Ltd., a processor and wholesaler of pulse crops with its head office in Innisfail, Alberta and its principal place of business at Slemon Park, Prince Edward Island. On April 26, 2021, Justice Mah of the Court of Queen's Bench of Alberta appointed a receiver over certain assets of New Leaf Essentials (East) Ltd. only — its accounts receivable and inventory — under Court File No. 2101 05682. The receiver's May 5, 2021 notice and statement under ss. 245(1) and 246(1) of the BIA put those receivable at $9,286 as at April 26, 2021, with inventory on site owned by a related party, against stated liabilities of $28,532,184, of which $28,529,571 is secured. Secured claims include ATB Financial at $11,854,062, Avrio Subordinated Debt Limited Partnership II at $8,000,000, Farm Credit Canada at $4,710,128 and Prince Edward Island Century 2000 Fund Inc. at $3,965,381. The receivership is closed.
