Rbee Aggregate Consulting Ltd., a gravel crushing business that ceased seasonal operations by the end of 2021, has been in court-appointed receivership in the Court of King's Bench of Alberta since March 11, 2022 (court file 2201-02948), with FTI Consulting Canada Inc. as receiver under section 243(1) of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act on the application of Crown Capital Partner Funding, LP. The company went bankrupt later in 2022. On May 6, 2022 the court approved the sale of the Site C, Windfall and Vogel assets to A-1 Quality Belting Ltd., with the remaining equipment auctioned through McDougall Auctioneers Ltd. Canadian Western Bank was repaid in full; Crown received $2.0 million on August 25, 2022, leaving a shortfall of approximately $20.7 million and nothing for unsecured creditors. The trustee is now administering a settlement with related parties and seeking approval to distribute the net funds to the secured creditor.

The bankrupt estate is before the court on the Trustee's application for a Preferential Transactions Order; the report responds to the Reed Affidavit on post-appointment rent paid by the Receiver, recoveries to creditors, alleged shareholder loans and the Business Division Agreement. Case update
RBee Aggregate: one stockpile survey against four seasons of Site C gravel
Justice Simard has ordered RMC Construction Materials to pay RBee's receiver $3,663,496.50 for Site C aggregate and $469,687.28 for hauling, plus GST and 12% interest, finding that RMC's overbilling claim depended on a single stockpile survey taken at the end of RBee's last season. RMC filed its second appeal on August 17.
