Western Precast Group Ltd. entered receivership on February 7, 2018, when the Court of Queen's Bench of Alberta granted an interim order appointing Grant Thornton Limited receiver and manager under sections 47.1, 243 and 249 of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act. The Receiver continued limited, scaled-back operations of the business to complete select customer projects (with customers bearing material and transport costs), retained an operations manager and 15 rehired employees, then terminated all remaining employees around May 9, 2018 ahead of the closing of the asset sale.
A further application was filed with the court on June 4, 2018.
