Vanderloos Farms Ltd.

Vanderloos Farms Ltd. has been in court-appointed receivership since May 14, 2026, under section 243 of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and provincial Judicature Act authority. The proceeding follows a demand made by Royal Bank of Canada on November 6, 2024. RBC, the primary secured creditor, was owed $6,378,831.48 as at April 1, 2026 according to the affidavit of Jasdeep Chohan sworn April 9, 2026, with interest and costs continuing to accrue. A review of the debtor's books and records identified $226,000 in the deemed trust class owing to the Canada Revenue Agency for unremitted payroll source deductions and/or GST; how much of that amount constitutes a deemed trust is unclear, and CRA has not yet filed a claim. CWB National Leasing Inc. and John Deere Financial Inc. hold security against certain Vanderloos Farms equipment. The proceeding remains active.
