Case update

Spirit Bay: a $1.4 million First Nation loan to end the receivership

Beecher Bay First Nation opposed Scala's receivership over the Spirit Bay development on its reserve, then appealed. Grant Thornton now asks the court to approve a settlement under which the First Nation funds a $1.4 million payment to Scala by loan, deposits $1.7 million in trust and assumes the receiver's fees, and to discharge the receiver.
