G Group 5220 Yonge Ltd

G Group 5220 Yonge Ltd. has been in court-appointed receivership since November 3, 2025, on an application under section 243 of the BIA. Romspen Investment Corporation, the senior secured lender, is owed $185,284,882.44 as at September 30, 2025 under facilities that matured September 30, 2024 and remain unpaid, secured by first, second and third mortgages over the Real Property, general assignments of rents and general security, and guaranteed by related G Group entities and the Debtor's principals. Thirteen trade contractors have registered sixteen construction liens totalling $8,917,175, with certificates of action issued for eight; the Receiver's preliminary view is that lien priority over the Romspen mortgage is capped at a holdback deficiency of $4,475,690 under section 78 of the Construction Act. The Canada Revenue Agency has asserted a $20,417,520.60 HST deemed trust claim.
