Contech Enterprises Inc. is in court-appointed receivership in the Supreme Court of British Columbia, file S152303, commenced March 20, 2015 under s. 243(1) of the BIA and s. 39 of the Law and Equity Act. A proposal filed December 23, 2014 was approved January 27, 2015 and overturned by the BC Court of Appeal on March 6, 2015, resulting in a deemed bankruptcy with Deloitte as Trustee. HSBC privately appointed Deloitte Receiver on March 11, 2015 on default of a September 29, 2011 general security agreement, and applied to have Deloitte appointed Receiver and Manager, returnable March 20, 2015. At March 6, 2015 assets were estimated at $15,889,411 against liabilities of $14,198,855, of which $8,846,821 was secured. The Receiver does not anticipate any funds available for distribution to unsecured creditors. The proceeding is closed.
