OverviewSummary updated

Canadian Development Strategies Inc. and related debtors are subject to a court-appointed receivership commenced August 14, 2026 in the Court of King's Bench for Saskatchewan under file KBG-SA-1076-2021, with MNP Ltd. appointed receiver pursuant to section 10-15 of The King's Bench Act, SS 2023, c 28. The application came from the holders of a first-ranking administrative charge over the debtors' property, MLT Aikins LLP, MNP Ltd. and W Law LLP, whose maximum aggregate amount was raised from $100,000.00 by order of December 13, 2021 to $275,000.00 on July 14, 2022 and to $400,000.00 on April 19, 2023. Unpaid professional fees of $491,030.30 exceed that cap, and there are no funds in any of the bankruptcy estates of the debtors. MNP is also proposal trustee and trustee in bankruptcy. Three mortgagees, Maureen Jackson, Joel Lipchitz and Neil Bird, have taken no material enforcement steps since September 19, 2023.

Filing brief

FireSong: a receiver, three years after the bankruptcy

The FireSong group's proposals failed in 2023 and its principals were deemed bankrupt. The estates had no money, three mortgagees filed enforcement actions and then did nothing, and five finished luxury cabins on a Saskatchewan lake sat under the control of the bankrupts. Their own former counsel, their proposal trustee and the trustee's counsel — owed $491,030.30 under a first-ranking charge — applied for a receiver.

Each row is one filing's statement, copied as it reads and never computed. "Estimated" is the officer's forecast; "Under the plan" is the plan's or proposal's own term; "Final" is a declared or paid distribution; a row with no chip states no footing. A range is the two numbers stated; "of proven claims" is the document's own denominator.
