Western Building Products Ltd.

Western Building Products Ltd., a building contractor and distributor of building supplies, has been under the control of BDO Canada Limited as Receiver since June 10, 2019, when the Business Development Bank of Canada appointed BDO privately under security agreements granted by the company. Notice was given under subsections 245(1) and 246(1) of the BIA on June 12, 2019. The property in the Receiver's hands is the real property at 25 Poplar Road, Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador, which the Receiver intends to sell by private or public sale. BDC's claim against the property is stated at $265,503 at estimated book value; the Canada Revenue Agency, the City of Corner Brook, WCB NL, HAPSET, Royal Bank of Canada and The Bank of Nova Scotia are each listed as secured on the property at a nominal $1 placeholder. The Receiver reported it had not obtained the company's books and records as at the date of the notice and had yet to determine whether there are other creditors. The matter remains active.
