The Reno Superstore Inc., together with The Reno Superstore QW Inc., Northern Interior Finishes Inc. and Northern Commercial Flooring Inc., has been under the receivership of Grant Thornton Limited since February 6, 2024, when the Ontario Superior Court of Justice made an order on the application of Royal Bank of Canada under section 243(1) of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and section 101 of the Courts of Justice Act, in court file CV-24-00712973-00CL. On a combined basis, the Receiver reports book-value assets of $274,472.73 drawn from the limited books and records provided by the debtors, comprising leaseholds of $182,814.90, accounts receivable of $49,829.78, a 2020 Mercedes Benz at $34,870.00 and equipment of $6,958.05, and cautions that realizations may differ materially from book values. As of March 25, 2024, Royal Bank of Canada is listed as a secured creditor at $724,212.36 and Mercedes Benz Financial Services Canada at $66,281.65, with Metrie Canada Ltd. and Toyota Industries Commercial Finance Canada Inc. each listed at a nominal $1.00; Canada Revenue Agency deemed trust claims are recorded against three of the debtors. The proceeding remains active.
