Sunny Beach Motel Inc. was assigned into bankruptcy on December 1, 2023 under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, with MNP Ltd. as Licensed Insolvency Trustee, in the Supreme Court of British Columbia under Estate No. 11-3017258. All of the company's assets had already been realized by the Receiver, and the Trustee reports the company has no assets left to realize. The Properties were sold to 1351486 B.C. Ltd., which held a second mortgage of approximately $4.9 million arising from $3.5 million advanced under a loan agreement dated March 14, 2022, and which credit bid the balance of the purchase price against that security. Synvest Investment Management Inc.'s first mortgage of approximately $7.1 million was paid out in full on the sale. Company records show unsecured claims of approximately $25,000 as at December 19, 2023, with no recovery expected.
