JFT Enterprises Ltd. has been in receivership since September 23, 2018, with BDO Canada Limited acting as Receiver, or Receiver/Manager, over the company's two real properties in Long Harbour, before the Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador under subsection 245(1) of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act. The Receiver was appointed by the Business Development Bank of Canada, which states a claim of $388,961 secured by collateral mortgages against 138-140 Main Road and 1-23 Church Road, an assignment of rents dated July 22, 2016, and a general security agreement over all present and after-acquired personal property. The Canada Revenue Agency and the Town of Long Harbour are also listed as creditors holding security on the property. In its notice dated October 1, 2018, the Receiver said it had not yet obtained the books and had not determined whether there are other creditors. The receivership remains active.
